Networks NSW safety culture diagnostic

BACKGROUND

Leading Edge Safety Systems was invited to conduct a baseline measure of safety culture maturity across the three NSW Network businesses; Ausgrid, Endeavor Energy and Essential Energy. The purpose of conducting this baseline safety culture assessment was to identify safety culture element similarities and differences between each Network business and to reveal insights into the likely effectiveness of a number of current safety culture improvement initiatives such as incident management, fair and just culture, safety leadership competencies and Network Fatal Risk Control Standards.

THE RESULT

Approximately 2,500 operational staff participated in the review and a safety culture improvement program was developed and accepted by senior management. Several changes were incorporated into both the group and individual Network business reports and a draft forward action plan was developed.
